A Big Night
It had seemed like months since I had had big session, and finally, last night, it happened. Grant and I decided to go to Slo Pitch, and anticipation built the entire day. I was really excited, and was just focusing the entire day on making good decisions when I sit down. We arrived around 8:30 when the second game was just starting, which was nice. I started out playing very tight, and won a few pots early. I won quite a nice pot when a loose-passive player limped in from UTG+1 with J-9s, and I limped with J-10 with a flop of J-J-8. The turn was an A, and the river brought a low card, so my kicker played.
We played in the second game short-handed for a little while, and I was able to get up to around $400 from my original buy-in of $150. When I was called to the main game, I was very excited, as a few of my favorite fish were in the game. I was fortunate to win a big pot with AA in a multi-way pot, in which one of the players had 33 with a final board of Ks-9-3-As-5s. The action was a little bit odd, as a player bet in the dark p/f with three callers. I raised, and they all called. On the turn, it checked to the player with 33, and he bet out. I just called, and the others mucked. On the river, the only hand that I couldn't beat would have been something like a QJ, Q10, J10 of spades. The player bet out, I raised, and he immediately re-raised. I legitimately felt I was probably beat, and made a crying call. I was excited when he asked me if I had a flushed, and I turned my hand over and raked in a monster.
There were several other big hands that I had, and I could talk about them for hours. Needless to say, I am very excited about this night. I ended up playing to 3:30am, so, in total, an 8-hour session, cashing out $653 for a profit of $503. This was actually a big boost to my bankroll, but, more importantly, a big boost to my confidence. I probably mis-played a couple of hands, and missed some bets, which is too be expected. I also was playing pretty loose, but felt like it was a pretty safe game to do so. Needless to say, I was pretty gitty when we got back, and told everyone the next day. I normally wouldn't do this when I'm in a groove, but it has been a while since I've had a night where I felt like I couldn't miss.
On a related note, I don't know if I've mentioned this, but both my online accounts on UltimatBet.com got shut down because a friend of a friend had some security issues on Bodog.com, and, apparently they share the same database. Consequently, anyone who has played from the same IP address as him got their accounts shut down. My account, Little Punish got shut down about a month and a half ago. I have written probably seven or eight e-mails to Ultimate Bet letting them know of the situation, but haven't heard anything back. Not a single e-mail. I mean I've seen some sites with some bad customer service, but this is by far the worst. My other screen name The Youngest got shut down, I assume, because I made a new username, and they probably shut down anyone linked to those accounts. I was able to transfer $350 to my brother's account, which was reopened, so I will probably be able to get some money off of there.
Anyways, it's time for me to get some stuff done. Take care,
JG
